Couldn't load pickup availability
Do zips make you want to quietly put a project back in the cupboard?
You're not alone! Whether it's an invisible zip that refuses to disappear, a wonky centred zip, or a bag zip that leaves you scratching your head, this workshop is here to take the fear out of sewing zips.
When - Saturday 18th July - 10am – 2pm (If you require lunch, please bring it. Tea, coffee and copious amounts of biscuits supplied)
Where - The Creative Barn, Seaton Grange Offices, Grange Lane, Seaton, Uppingham, Rutland, LE15 9HT
Join me for a fun, hands-on four-hour workshop at the Creative Barn, where we'll work through the most useful zip techniques step by step. You'll sew samples of each technique, building your own reference folder to take home, so you'll never have to wonder, "Now how did that go again?"
During the workshop you'll learn how to:
- Sew a centred zip
- Insert a lapped zip
- Master the invisible zip
- Sew a zip neatly into a lined bag or pouch
- Shorten zips and choose the right zip for your project
- Avoid the common mistakes that catch so many sewists out
This isn't about rushing to finish one project - t's about giving you the confidence and skills to tackle zips in all your future sewing.
Suitable for confident beginners and experienced sewists who'd like to improve their finishing techniques.
Workshop length: 4 hours
Please bring: Your sewing machine in good working order, a standard zip foot (and an invisible zip foot if you have one), basic sewing kit and thread. All fabrics, zips and workshop notes are provided.
Come along, ask as many questions as you like, and leave feeling ready to say, "Actually… zips aren't scary after all!"
