My lovely friends at Let's Sew It in Melton Mowbray are celebrating their first birthday, and I'm delighted to be collaborating with them to mark the occasion with a special Sashiko workshop!

Fancy escaping the hustle and bustle for a few hours of beautiful fabrics, simple stitches and a little creative relaxation?

Join me for a wonderfully relaxing introduction to Sashiko, the traditional Japanese stitching technique that uses simple running stitches to create beautiful decorative patterns.

During this friendly four-hour workshop, I'll introduce you to the history of Sashiko and guide you through creating your own stitched samples. We'll explore traditional patterns, experiment with different designs and discover how these lovely techniques can be used in quilting, textile art and decorative stitching.

And the best bit? Absolutely no experience is needed! Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced stitcher, you'll be very welcome. And remember, wonky stitches are absolutely allowed!

This is all about slowing down, enjoying the process and discovering just how relaxing a little hand stitching can be.

You'll leave with your own stitched samples, new skills and lots of ideas to continue stitching at home.
