This is a class for anyone who loves fabric, texture, hand stitching, embellishment and making something beautifully unique. Over two relaxed and inspiring days, we will build a richly layered crazy patchwork background before bringing it to life with hand embroidery, decorative stitches, texture and slow stitching techniques.
There are no perfect points, no matching seams and absolutely no pressure here. This is about playing with fabric, experimenting with stitch and enjoying the process.
On Day One, we will create our crazy patchwork foundation using a mixture of fabrics, colours and shapes. I will guide you through construction methods, fabric choices and design ideas, with plenty of tips to help you create a balanced, interesting piece full of character. You can event incorporate pieces of fabric that mean something to you, to give your piece even more meaning!
On Day Two, we slow things down and add the magic. Using embroidery stitches, decorative threads, beads, trims, lace and embellishments, we will transform your patchwork into a richly stitched textile artwork bursting with personality.
Whether you prefer vintage, bright and bold, shabby chic, beautifully coordinated or gloriously eclectic, your project will be entirely your own.
This workshop is creative, mindful, slightly addictive and enormous fun.
