A fun, fabric-filled sewing workshop with Sarah Payne

Want to learn to sew… but without feeling terrified by your sewing machine?

Come and join me for Bunting, Bubbles & Sewing Machines – a relaxed, laughter-filled workshop where we will learn some simple sewing skills whilst making fabulous bunting to take home.

When - Saturday 26h July - 12am – 2.30pm (If you require lunch, please bring it. Tea, coffee and copious amounts of biscuits supplied)

Where - The Creative Barn, Seaton Grange Offices, Grange Lane, Seaton, Uppingham, Rutland, LE15 9HT

This class is perfect for beginners, nervous sewists, people who own a sewing machine but aren't entirely sure what all the knobs do… and anyone who simply fancies a creative few hours surrounded by fabric and lovely people.

I will guide you through the basics step by step as we cut, stitch, press and create a beautiful length of bunting. Along the way you will pick up useful sewing skills, machine confidence and plenty of tips you can use again at home.

No pressure. No perfection. No need to know one end of a bobbin from the other.

Just come and have a go.

During the workshop we will cover:
• Getting to know your sewing machine
• Simple sewing machine confidence and setup
• Basic sewing skills and stitching techniques
• Cutting, pressing and construction
• Making and assembling your own gorgeous bunting

All materials are provided and machine hire is available if you don’t have your own sewing machine.

Expect tea, chatter, fabric everywhere and a very happy kind of creative chaos.

And because every good sewing session deserves a little celebration, alcohol-free bubbles will be available too!

You will leave with beautiful handmade bunting, new sewing skills and, quite possibly, a slightly dangerous new appreciation for fabric shopping.

Suitable for beginners – absolutely no experience needed.
