Course Overview:

Join Sarah Payne and Kerrie Padmore (Living in Loveliness) for two full days of stitching, chatting, learning, and laughter! Whether you’re a beginner looking to dabble or an experienced sewist looking for new inspiration, this delightful two-day event combines beautiful quilting projects, expert guidance, and some much-needed “me time.”

You’ll enjoy two different workshop experiences across the two days — one hosted by Sarah, one by Kerrie — plus exclusive shopping opportunities, tasty treats, and a buzzing, friendly atmosphere.

Course Schedule:

 Day 1 – Quilting with Kerrie

Theme: Creative Construction & Patchwork Play

Tutor: Kerrie Padmore 

 Welcome, tea & chat

• Introduction to the day’s project (e.g. mini quilt, cushion, or a clever piecing technique)
• Hands-on session: cutting, piecing, pressing — and plenty of tips from Kerrie's extensive quilting experience
• Focus on layout design and colour play
• Afternoon stitching session: assembling the project
• Finishing techniques and Q\&A

Kerrie’s shop will be open for exclusive shopping with fabric packs, patterns & more.

Day 2 – Fabulous Fun with Sarah

Theme: Introduction to Free Motion Quilting

Tutor: Sarah Payne 

 Welcome and a lovely dose of Sarah's infectious enthusiasm!

• A calming and encouraging intro to the basics of FMQ
• How to set up your machine and tools for success
• Gentle warm-up exercises on practice sandwiches
• Time to play: loops, swirls, meanders and more
• Tips on tension, movement, and muscle memory
• Plenty of time to ask questions, pause, and get comfy with the feel of it.

Afternoon Session: Stitch Your Way

Choose your adventure:

Option 1: Keep practicing your new FMQ skills — Sarah will be on hand with ideas, mini challenges, and personalised support.

Option 2: Start quilting your own project— such as a cushion front, placemat, or a panel from Day 1’s patchwork. Bring something along or pick up a ready-to-go kit from Kerrie or Sarah’s shop.

It’s all about doing what feels right for you — building confidence and having fun with no pressure.

Bonus: Kerrie’s curated kits and stitchy goodies will be available to browse, with special treats just for attendees.
