"so i should buy 2gb DDR2 667MHz stick. how do i know if its laptop ram when buying over then net. what should it cost? i found them for 30 dollar, but that seems to cheap, or not? "

My Response

"The memory used in this video is Kingston KVR667D2S5 2G ValueRAM 2GB 667MHz PC5300 DDR2 200pin SODIMM. This was purchased from Play at £14.99 so your $30 sounds about right! "

"is it possible to overclock a NC-10? "

My Response

"The MSI Wind and Asus models are very safe to overclock with advanced sytem options allowing it, but there is very little info about overclocking the NC10's Atom 1.6GHz up to 2 or 2.2. The main issue that I have read about is that it increases the temperature that the CPU runs at - and netbooks run hot! However I dont know why it is possible with the WIND etc as they use the same processor. I would be interested to learn if anyone has managed it yet! Not willing to risk it on my baby tho :) "

"You made a fatal mistake in this video. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw. The screw used on the NC10 is NOT a Phillips head; it is a Pozidriv head. Using a Phillips screwdriver on a Pozidriv head yields a high risk of stripping the screw very quickly. You must use a Pozidriv screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the NC10. You can Google the difference. "

My Response

To call it 'fatal' may be a little harsh, especially as the official user guide that arrives with the NC10 does not specifiy which type of screwdriver is required. However, my (UK) edition does not look like a Pozidriv screw because it doesnt have the embossed lines on the screw head at 45 degrees to the slots that usually identifies it as such.
Furthermore, as long as you are careful, like me, you should not have any trouble opening it on the single occassion that you perform the upgrade.
